October Update

Being the romantics that we are, Jayce and I went on a date to tour our trash collecting company back in September. It was fascinating! I highly recommend it. ;-)
Our company is the only one in the area that does trash AND recycling. (There are 8+ garbage companies to choose from in our area. Isn't that nuts?? I don't know why it's not done through the city.) We wanted to see the sorting machine they boasted about on their website in action.
Those are bales of plastics to be recycled in the background. That big bale of grocery bags on the left is going to become carpet. Crazy, right?

Spencer got a hair cut at the beginning of the month! Ah!

Mid October I rolled into Costco and thought, "Wait. What? Christmas??" The commercialization happens early down here. I am secretly quiet taken by this nutcracker though. The funny side of me thinks he would be the perfect greeter at my front door through the holiday season.

I have wanted to make caramel apples a Fall tradition ever since my friend Casey brought me one two years ago in Santaquin. This year I finally tried it out and even ended up selling them. It has been an interesting adventure and a good learning opportunity.

Here are some of the first "learning opportunities":

And some of my later work:

I've sold 95 apples and counting so far. A fun endeavor!

Jayce was a chaperone on Cameron's first field trip to the dairy farm.

And can you spot Jackson? This is how I found him at the end of quiet time. When he does fall asleep, it's normally like this!

Found this on my phone. Thank you Star Wars app. It's Ben's favorite.

Cameron experiments with writing and it cracks me up! One evening they set up a fort in the living room and kept fighting with each other while I was making dinner. The next day I found these signs on the coffee table. They read: "Benson welcome" and "No, Benson is not allowed." I think they had something to do with the arguing!

Cameron wrote this a couple of Sunday's ago when he was coloring at the kitchen table.
I particularly like it because of how he wrote "Heavenly Father" as "helefotr" because for some reason he often says "Heavenly Fah-ter" when he's praying. I have to bite my lip and try not to laugh because it's awfully close to something a little irreverent.
