Spencer Update

This delicious boy is growing fast. The holidays are going to come and go and he'll soon be diving into his second year of life! I feel like I was just in the delivery room sometimes.
He loves food. People have teased me that I wouldn't need to sweep if I had a dog and now I'm like, "Don't need one, I've got a Spencer." He often crawls into the kitchen and I find him under the table searching for scraps. If he sees you eating something from a distance he books it over and starts whining.

He also loves being held. I try not to make eye contact with him when he's playing contentedly on the floor because when I do he almost always gets a big grin, then starts crawling over and whimpering. It's adorable but my back is feeling a little low about it.

He seems to be a little more on the snuggly side, at least for one of our babies. Jayce and I both adore his snuggles when they come. There's just something about those cherub cheeks resting just below my collar bone. I'll let my back splinter away just to soak in those moments.

He has FOUR teeth. He's full on crawling all over the place now and he can make it up our first two large stairs. Changing his diaper is like putting a diaper on a slippery fish. He is continuously trying to roll over onto his tummy and he gets a kick out of my struggling.

With this beautiful weather we've been having, one of my favorite things to do with Spencer is set a blanket on our front lawn and lay out there with him. I read and watch him explore while Ben and Jack race down the drive way or search for sticks. Ben often comes over and lays down with me to watch for planes and clouds. It's one of my happy places.

Here and Jack and Ben at Spencer's last check up:

Jack sat mostly contentedly in the chair because he knew that he could get a churro at Costco for doing so. Ben on the other hand was pushing the limits the entire visit and ended up a puddle on the floor because he had to face the fact that he had not chosen to do things that landed him that churro. Three is rough.
