Easter Weekend

We were lucky enough to have the Stay's and Gwilliam's visit Easter weekend, and I gotta say it was great to have "these yahoos" down for a visit!

I have been texting Rachel pictures of eggs, goat yogurt, and the baby goats for a couple of months now because she has a love for farm life, so going to Heartland Homestead was a must and it did not disappoint. We spent a couple of hours there I think!

My beautiful sisters bonding with their smelly but cute spirit animals:

And the kids. We were impressed with how well all the kids who hadn't been there did. They were hardly even nervous.

Oh man, these two. <3 p="">

The kids also helped Ray go on an "easter egg hunt" for turkey eggs.

They all ended up at the dirt mound. Boys!

We also did egg dying, of course and took the kids to a park as well. I love watching my kids with all of their cousins! It never gets old.

Uncle Burt gave them a few push-up rides and for some reason got tired...

EASTER!

I will say this for Ben, he's consistent!

I'm pretty proud of this moment and glad someone got it on camera! Lucy making a resurrection roll with me. She's adorable and I plan to stay in her good graces. I'm pretty sure it's a side effect of having all boys, but I definitely have a soft spot for my nieces!

Monday, we went to the Georgia Aquarium (a long awaited trip for our family!) with the Stay's. My only regret was not taking more pictures, especially of the whale sharks! Luckily Ben had my back.

A whale shark, guys!! That's a whale shark!!!

Sadly, we had two incidences over the course of the weekend. The Stay's got rear-ended at a stop light and their car was totaled. No big deal. Can I just say that I'm still in awe at how well they handled it? I didn't hear them say one thing out of anger over it. In fact, their hearts just went out to the teenage boy (who was on his way to prom, poor guy) who hit them. #powercouple

The second incident was my cake stand. I know, I know, you're all in shock that something like that could happen on top of my sister's car being totaled. Whew, what a loss, right? Someone who shall rename nameless went in to swipe just one more bite before the trip home and it fell over and cracked in half! A week later I got a beautiful white cake stand in the mail with a note reading, "Dear Sarah, Hi! I'm a vintage milk glass cake stand, and I know I will love your family very much! Happy baking! XOXO" It's as happy an ending as the Stay's new sweet ride, Georgia.
