Joy from our home to yours. :-) Cameron just barely started giggling. He has to be in the right mood, but Jayce is so good at getting him going. It has been so fun! Still going to the gym. Maybe colds aren't always the worst things in the world. :-) Dear "Just Dance 2", Thank you for this. Yours Truly, Sarah

The Rege

Image
Jayce and I are loving living up in Draper. We can't help but miss the friends that we left down in Provo though. After a year of living in the married apartments at the Regency, we made some bff's. Here's a walk down memory lane. Meet the cast: John and Amy: Although they missed the BEST SUMMER EVVEERRRR, we still love them. (Just teasing guys :-) ) They spent the summer working in Wyoming, but had just enough time to introduce us to Settlers of Catan before they left and now we're hooked. Confession--we may or may not have skimmed over your living room while you were gone to see if it was in there...and we're sorry we used your living room as storage for the Air Cinema. Welcome back! Oh, and did I mention that they are professional Gibble Gobble players? Seriously. I think they train for it. Lastly, who can forget John's most favorite famous basketball player of all time? ;-) Jenny and Derek: Let's face it. What would the Rege be without the best manage...

The Art of Family Photos

Image
I've recently noticed that family photos just seem to get better with time no matter if you already took them or are about to take them. What I mean is the family photos you took 10 years ago have just gotten better because you can get a kick out of looking at the hair styles/clothing choices/faces made/etc. And the current photos you are preparing for will be more fun than previous ones because of the growth of the family, adding new faces, new obstacles, more wardrobes, etc. We took family photos on the Porter side about a month ago and I just HAVE to share these gems with you so that you can fully appreciate the art of getting 17 individuals to bring their game day faces for picture day. Pay particular attention to the grandchildren and enjoy because they are A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E. (For full show experience play this youtube clip of music with viewing. Also, feel free to click on the picture for a larger version so you can really capture each face.) The End.

My Senior Project

Image
Well, so long dance major I've finished my senior project and I'm outta there. I was nervous about it, but I ended up really enjoying the overall experience. I've never considered myself a "choreographer." I love performing and I've always preferred being on a warm, energy filled stage than being the one leading the rehearsals and biting my nails in the audience during the performance. I was lucky enough to have five top notch dancers by my side though, so it was actually really relaxing to be in the audience just watching and enjoying the show. I trusted them and knew that they would be flawless. I choreographed a piece called "Seen and Unseen" inspired by a talk given in the LDS General Conference by Elder Jeffrey R. Holland entitled, "The Ministry of Angels." He gave the talk in the fall of 2008 and it has stuck with me ever since. His talk along with personal experience and experiences of others drove the dance. There are some ...

Mr. Bunny's End

Image
Meet Mr. Bunny: I have had Mr. Bunny for as long as I can remember. I'm pretty sure I got him when my family lived in France, in which case I have had him since kindergarten. Did any of you hold on to your stuffed animals for so long? Am I alone in the world? Anyways, my mom brought Mr. Bunny out with her when she came to visit for my graduation just barely. He is so tattered and worn out now that he actually looks pretty gross to be honest. His beatings come from nothing but love though. He's been cut open, patched up, slobbered on, and snuggled with. Jayce and I decided to take a few photos with him and then toss him. (So much for love and tenderness, right?) Needless to say he and Cameron were the best of buds for a few moments in time. As I was walking from the bedroom to the kitchen trash can I couldn't believe that I actually started to feel sad about throwing him away. I instinctively started to cradle him in my arms-no joke. Hahaha, isn't that just ridiculou...

Everything Cameron

Image
As the doctor ordered, we've been sending Cameron to the "gym" some more. It has been really fun to watch him gain his strength. He really does have to earn his muscles. I can totally see how he gets frustrated down there with his face smashed into the ground half the time. The little champ has quite the receding hair line now too. Check that sucker out! Pretty soon he's going to look like chia pet. :-) Sometimes parents do things like this to their children: and it's just so fun. Do you have any grey poupon? If you weren't convinced on whether or not he had a Porter mouth, get a load of this: In it's full glory right there on a little 2.5 month old. Grand finale...Cameron got blessed Sunday before last. What a handsome little gentlemen he turned out to be! (Oh, P.S. I did cut my hair off) This is a 4 generation photograph on the Porter side! Isn't that just amazing?! I love this! It's like looking at Jayce's past, present, and ...
