The Pool!
Okay, as I mentioned before, Cameron's first experience in the pool was a little traumatic. Clinging to me, crying when we first got in, not wanting to let go of my shoulders for 1 minute, etc. He was pretty scared of it, but was content enough as long as I was holding by the end of it.
Second time in the pool he was still pretty nervous at first but warmed up to it when I put him in a life jacket and walked with him down the lazy river (Yes, our public pool in Suncrest has a lazy river. Love it!). In fact he so adored it that he ended up like this after 10 minutes:
Completely passed out. :-)
He was so wasted that he didn't wake up when I took off the life jacket and brought him back to the lawn chair. Didn't wake up when I took off his swimsuit and changed him into dry clothes, nothin'. I actually got a little worried for about 30 seconds thinking about whether or not he had somehow drowned even though his face never went in the water. Then I remembered that he was still breathing and that I was being ridiculous.
Then we just cuddled while I caught some sun for a bit. Hey, if the pool is going to knock him out like that, we're going more often!
3rd time's the charm! The third time I took Cameron to the pool I timidly put his feet in the kitty area and he just sat right down and started splashing his hands in the water. Even in the deep end you don't have to hold him super close to you anymore, he can have some space in the water. It's been pretty fun.
