Aunt Tee's Visit

Aunt Tee came into town! While Jayce was in Mexico my aunt was kind enough to come visit and add variety to our time without him.

After picking her up from the air port on Saturday we went to go see my (great) Aunt Bev and were lucky enough to be able to see my dad's cousins while we were there. Bev is one of the most darling old women you will ever meet, but age is making life hard on her now. I was really glad to be able to see her.

Jayce left the day after Tee arrived, Mother's Day, but still made the morning special before our drive to the air port. :-)

Later that day all three boys had their worst Sacrament meeting ever. Or in a long enough time that I've forgotten the last one. It was awful. Aunt Tee can tell you, my ward can tell you, anyone who passed by my screaming-in-time-out children on the sidewalk can tell you.

Let's move on to their brighter moments of the week. :-)

We met up with Jenna Hamilton (long-time family friend) and her cute kids in Provo on Monday.

So, most definitely not a bright moment, but I had to document it for Jayce. Jack has developed the bad habit of biting when he gets really angry and he did it TWICE the week Jayce was gone. Two Jack attacks. Ugh. I scrambled out of the shower one morning because Benson had started screaming and I could tell it was the I'm-in-real-pain kind of crying. He didn't really have the words to describe what happened and I only saw the smaller (but bleeding) bite on his back and didn't realize that it was a bite mark until later when I was looking at it and saw the other bite mark above it. Jack made the same smaller but more painful bite mark on Cameron's arm later that week and you better believe he knew he was in trouble that time. Oh boy. I'll be happy when he's fully out of this phase.

There's that mushy gushy little devil.

Aunt Tee went with us to check out the animal farm at Thanksgiving Point.

Cameron braved pony riding for the second time in his life and he and Captain managed quite well together as long as I was standing alongside him. When I stepped away to take a picture, this face was immediate:

As I approached the ponies with Jack he realized my intention to put him on one and immediately decided that he shared Sherlock Holmes opinion that they are "dangerous at both ends and tricky in the middle" and it became apparent rather quickly that he was not having it. His man hands locked onto my neck and shirt and his legs looked like they were being magnetically drawn to my waist as I attempted putting him on a pony, so we let him cheer his fellow toddlers on from the gate.

After that I didn't know what to expect from Ben and was amazed at how trusting he was! He sat right down, he pet Captain, and he had a grin nearly the whole time. It's so fun how different all three of their personalities are and they are surprising us all the time.

Then on to more animals and a hay ride.

We were lucky to have Aunt Tee in our lives.
