These Days...

Image
These days have been exciting, funny, packed, and let's face it...even a little bit scary. However Jayce and I have quite enjoyed "these days." We'd like to share a little bit of them with you: *Spring Term and the MCAT are out of the way= a big plus. Now lots of more decisions to be made and on to summer term! Jayce and I rather enjoyed having two new roommates for a week: Aren't they just so gosh darn cute? Lindsey and Porter spent some of their last days in Provo shacking it up in our living room because a. their apartment is in boxes, b. Josh has been in Alabama doing Air Force training, and c. there are some creepy people in Provo, so there's always safety in numbers! Part of the reason why it was so fun for Jayce was because he could have male bonding time in the mornings while watching the World Cup! I'm just not quite as fun to watch sport games with... These days my sister-in-law is the Belle of the Ball. Literally . She was Belle in the Princess...

Los Padres!

She says: My dad has always been one of my biggest fans. He's great that way. :-) We like to call him Clark Kent because he's so dashing and looks like he could pass as Superman and his theme song is "Secret Agent Man" by Johnny Rivers. Voila: Some of my favorite memories of my dad revolve around historical sites, dance concerts, and family time at home. Many families enjoy taking vacations on cruises to tropical, relaxing beaches, but our family has always much preferred outings to historical sites. :-) (Especially since there are so many fabulous things within our range on the east coast.) I have seen my dad tear up outside John Adams home in Massachusetts, in the house where Joseph Smith grew up in New York, and in the Museum of the Confederacy in Richmond, VA just to name a few. My dad arranged for us to be taken down into a vault at the Museum of the Confederacy so that we could look at our ancestor's regiment's flag. It was so neat to have something tha...

A Memorial Day Weekend Well Spent....

Image
Have you ever played the "Ha-Ha" tummy game? It's rather enjoyable... Jayce giving his sibblings a little lovin' We had a girl's night...and Jayce was invited. :-) Mulan! It was a grand weekend! It felt like I wasn't even in school. We played games, we ate, we talked, we relaxed, we watched movies, and the list goes on. (And don't worry Dad Porter, we did do some cabin maintenance!) We're back to our normal regiment: school, dance, work, med school applications, blah blah blah, but we're enjoying it. We are rejuvenated and ready to press forward. After reading a particularly good talk in the Ensign this month, " Don't Be in a Hurry ," we've decided to take time out every day just to meditate, or as Brother Bott always says, "to take time to sit and watch the paint peel on the wall." Life is so chaotic these days, sometimes the important things start to take the back seat. Taking time out to just ponder allows time to slo...

Mother's Day

Image
She Says : As I have gotten older I have come to appreciate Mother's Day more and more. Probably because I've matured just enough to skim the surface of understanding what it really takes to be a mother and because I'm coming closer and closer to becoming a mother myself. To me it has sort of turned into a international woman's day. :-) It's like a celebration of womanhood. You don't have to be a mother yet to have motherly attributes. Every woman has the capacity to nurture and the potential to create. In the words of President Gordon B. Hinckley, "You are creatures of divinity; you are daughters of the Almighty. Limitless is your potential. Magnificent is your future, if you will take control of it." For example, this is my mom: Lorie Ann Buchholz Terry. I celebrate her today because she has done so much for me throughout my life (more than I know, I'm sure). She has sacrificed a great deal for me while I was growing up: dealing with my teenage m...

1 Year Down, Eternity to Go

Image
Well ladies and gentlemen, it's true. Jayce and I have reached our one year mark of marriage! Here's a tour of our weekend: Friday night we went out to dinner at Tucanos because that's one of our favorites and because we went there on our honeymoon too. It was quite yum as always. I love that grilled pineapple. After dinner Jayce whisked me away to the cabin. Little did we know we would have to conquer a huge snow drift to get to the front door. Since we were up at the cabin, our might muscles were enlisted to bring some of our sibling's storage back down to Provo. So, we decided to load the car as soon as we got there before tucking in for a relaxing night. We were laughing at ourselves at first, lugging big suit cases and duffel bags across the snow, over the snow bank, and into the car, but then the unthinkable happened. Jayce lost his wedding ring . In know, great omen on the celebration of the first anniversary, right? Luckily our love isn't tied to ou...

Jayce Face and Baby Porter

This is from after Easter dinner. We're big fans of our little nephew Porter (and all of our other nieces and nephews!). It has been so fun to watch him grow from a tiny infant to a giggler! He is so darling!...I mean studly. Super manly.

General Conference Weekend and Easter

Image
General Conference Weekend was fabulous. I loved how Elder Neil L. Anderson described Conference as being "a spiritual symphony" orchestrated by the Lord. There were so many talks about the family and excellent talks about the Savior. I'm excited for the May Ensign! Jayce and I watched all four sessions at the church and while he was at Priesthood Session Saturday night, I went out with the ladies. We went to Red Robin, Deseret Book, and Robert's. I almost won a prize at Robert's, but unfortunately I was beat by a little 10-year-old. Next time! I made Jayce's little egg badge at Robert's during ladies night! I wanted to get a picture of him wearing it before the end of the day. Don't ask why he's laughing. Our Easter morning breakfast was french toast and our Easter treat was my favorite little Cadbury Eggs that come out every year. Love them! We attended Conference at the church again, visited grandparents, and had fondue with friends an...
