July 4

A peak at our 4th of July:

Parade:

This float made me cry. I've turned into a sap.

Two bday celebrations:

I had a good time keeping Cameron awake in the car on the way back up to Draper after the parade. I needed him to wait until we got home so that he could nap for a while in his crib, but he was just so cute!

Classic Porter Family Taste Test on the Mars goodies Scott brought back from his internship:

Like Mars candy, but you might not want to choose their energy bars...advice from the Porter clan!

For fireworks, we hiked up to our 360 view of Salt Lake and Utah Counties. So cool! We were running all over the peak at first because we couldn't decide which view had the best fireworks. They were everywhere! It was awesome.

We got quite the view of the fire too. It was hard to take our eyes off of it. These pictures just don't do it justice. Sometimes it looked like it was kind of waning and then it would find more fuel and get huge again. I mean, they were easily 30-40 foot flames. I also just felt so bad for the firefighters who had to monitor it all night on the 4th. When firemen walked in the parade earlier that morning I got choked up. All of those men mean hope for so many people right now.
